Local Author & Artist Policy Letter

Thank you so much for your interest in sharing your work with Atlas Bookshop. Supporting local creativity is an important part of what we do, and we’re always honored when authors, artists, and makers think of us.

As a small, highly curated space, we are intentional about what we carry in order to maintain a cohesive, calm, and inspiring browsing experience for our community. Because of this, we are not able to accept all submissions, but we genuinely appreciate every inquiry.

We Prioritize Items That:

  • Align with the tone and aesthetic of the shop (thoughtful, literary, cozy, nature-connected, community-orientated)

  • Are well-crafted and professionally presented

  • Complement our existing book selection and in-store displays

  • Feel giftable, meaningful, or story-driven

Categories We Occasionally Accept:

  • Books by local authors (with a strong preference for professionally edited and bound titles)

  • Paper goods (e.g., bookmarks, literary-themed cards, etc.)

  • Small batch, book adjacent items (e.g., reading accessories, simple handmade goods)

What We Typically Do Not Carry:

  • Mass-produced or wholesale items that do not align with our shop’s identity

  • Items that require significant displays or special storage

  • Work that has not been edited, proofread, or finished to a high standard

Submission Process

To be considered, please email us at atlasbookshopsilverton@gmail.com with:

  • A brief introduction about you and your work

  • Photos or a link to your product or book

  • Pricing information (including your suggested retail price)

  • Any relevant details about local connection or story

Due to the volume of requests, we may not be able to respond to every submission. If your work feels like a strong fit, we will follow up within 2–3 weeks.

Accepted Items May Be:

  • Purchased wholesale or

  • Accepted on consignment—a 60/40 split in favor of the maker

Details will be discussed upon acceptance.

A Final Note

We care deeply about supporting local creatives, and we also care deeply about preserving a space that feels intentional and cohesive for everyone who walks through our doors. Thank you for understanding that we make each decision with both of those values in mind.

Warmly,

Atlas Bookshop
